Job Description
 

You will join our Advanced Manufacturing department

As our new Controls & Automation Engineer you will be part of a team that supports all aspects of control system lifecycles across the diverse industries and systems of our varied clients.  

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Robot programming: Develop robot simulations.  Use teach pendant to program and jog the robot.
  • PLC programming: Write original, well-structured code and make changes to existing code. PLC program code will interface with robot controllers, vendor PLC’s, and SCADA. 
  • HMI programming: Create visualization screens for local HMI including machine control and alarming.
  • Control Systems design: Contribute to hands-on, detailed design efforts on assigned projects from initial information gathering through final implementation. Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in design reviews. Verify system performance requirements are met.
  • Architecture configuration: Configure industrial Ethernet networks.
  • Commissioning and site work: Lead the start-up, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of equipment both locally and at customer sites.
  • Documentation: Contribute to and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Generate process control narratives and contribute to equipment Operation & Maintenance manuals.

  • B.S. or greater in relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in machine control system integration. Years of experience may offset educational requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge and programming experience of Fanuc Robots.  Application development and simulation experience using Roboguide software is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and programming experience on the Rockwell Automation Logix 5000 platform; experience with multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell Automation, GE, Siemens, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience programming PanelView Plus HMIs; experience with multiple platforms (Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation, etc.) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in Machine Control; Process Control is a plus.
  • Knowledge of control system design, including electrical principles and hardware design.
  • Experience configuring industrial networking systems and related hardware (primarily Ethernet-based).
  • Experience configuring computers, workstations, or servers in control systems is a plus.
  • Experience working as a successful contributor on cross-functional project teams.
  • This position requires 25-30% travel.
