Job Description

 

We invite you to bring your experience and education into play as you manage the construction activities for fast paced Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) projects in the manufacturing industry. You will join our Advanced Manufacturing Team within our Energy Market department

As our new Construction Manager, ? you will be part of our Advanced Manufacturing Project Management team that is based primarily in Syracuse, NY, but you will be located on specific projects throughout the United States.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

Planning, scheduling, and overseeing other superintendents, supervisors, and administrators on project-related activities.

Assembling members of the organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers) at the start of a project to review job-specific items (schedules, health & safety requirements, subcontractor coordination, etc.). Assigning roles and responsibilities for field activities in accordance with company practices.

Leading the team with the change order process including proper notification, supporting data gathering/organization, and development for Project Manager review and processing.

·Participating actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite.

·Serving as Project Site Safety Leader (in the absence of a full-time EHS Supervisor).

·Collaborating with the Project Manager in the development of and modification to the Project Execution Plan (PEP). Providing updates to the Project Manager in accordance with the PEP as it relates to cost, schedule, and client management.

·Estimating cost of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to successfully manage change during a project.

·As a primary interface with clients during a project, obtaining client feedback and maintaining client relationships.

·Managing execution of the commissioning and closeout processes.

·Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in our quality management practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a construction-related field managing industrial engineering and construction projects.
  • The ability to read plans/drawings/specifications and interpret data.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with project scheduling and job costing.
  • Experience with construction sequencing and planning, construction scheduling/durations, safety planning, means and methods.
  • Travel required (75-100%).

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include being a confident communicator with the ability to manage quality, schedule, and budget for multi-discipline fast paced construction projects.
