Job Description

Major Tool & Machine is searching for a talented Welding Engineer supporting various markets including Aerospace, Nuclear, Power Generation, and Defense. The ideal candidate will be very familiar with Robotic Welding applications. Applicants should have the following:

Job Duties:
- Ensure incoming work has appropriate PQRs, WPSs, qualified welders and sufficient filler materials.
- Plan and oversee the process of performing PQRs and WPQs as well as create and maintain supporting documentation.
- Communicate with customers regarding welding requirements and submit qualification documents as needed based on contract requirements
- Work with automation integrators to create robotic weld cells and help troubleshoot and improve robotic welding issues.
- Support the weld shop regarding technical problems including but not limited to techniques and procedures.
- Work with outside vendors/reps for shop needs.
- Provide technical training to MTM personnel as necessary.

Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering/Welding Engineering Technology or Degree in Engineering with welding emphasis or equivalent through work experience.
- At least three years' work experience in the welding field. Robotic Welding programming and integration experience preferred.
- Knowledge of welding processes, advanced fabricating techniques, NDT, materials, heat treatment, etc.
- AWS CWI certification preferred.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following welding codes: NAVSEA 248/278/1688, ASME BPVC Section III/VIII/IX, AWS D1.1/D1.2/D1.6/D17.1/B2.1.
