Overview

The role of Engineering Manager is a crucial member of our wind and renewable energy team, this person will use their strong project management, technical and leadership abilities to manage engineering provided in support of wind and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities
    Management of engineering services for Balance of Plant (BOP) or Balance of System (BOS) projects including construction permitting, civil engineering, foundation engineering, electrical collector system engineering, substation engineering, transmission line engineering, and interconnect switch yard engineering.
  • Management of internal engineering resources and consultants in the execution of planning, design, and quality assurance of wind and solar PV renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate and coordinate extensively with clients, the overall project manager, project development staff, and vendors in the execution of project work, and will be responsible for driving towards the lowest cost engineering solutions that meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Support of business development and project development activities; assisting in the growth of the business unit through new renewable energy service offerings, mentoring and monitoring of engineering management resources utilized from other parts of the company, development and maintenance of engineering standards and procedures, innovation in design methods, driving quality assurance and quality control on all project work, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Geological, or Environmental Engineering
  • Knowledge of civil and electrical conceptual and detailed design methods, road design, foundation design concepts, geo-technical engineering concepts, storm water management, permitting, collector system engineering, substation engineering, construction methods, cost estimation, systems operation and maintenance and construction QA testing preferred.
  • 10 years of project management and hands-on engineering design experience, and a proven track record and experience in the renewable energy or wind engineering business.
  • 8 years of progressive leadership/management experience and a PE is preferred.
  • Experience with project management, contracts, cost, schedule, and budget control required
  • Must be proactive, strategic thinker, with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to embrace change.
  • Must be able to manage conflict with staff and clients; and have proven problem solving ability and demonstrated sound judgment

  • Strong analytical skills
  • An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills.

Salary Range: $120,000-$180,000
