TSC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III in Huntsville, AL. This position will support the TSC Innovation & Product Cell (IPC).

Responsibilities:

Works directly with industry partners to collaborate on designing custom payload enclosures, adapters, chassis, bracketry, & cabling to integrate TSC electronics into various host platforms. Works closely with TSC RF & electrical engineering team members providing design guidance for antenna(s) size, weight, and form factor to facilitate proper integration into partner host platforms. Creates bills of materials & drives procurement of prototype parts and assemblies. Works closely with third party custom parts manufacturers to ensure rapid high quality prototype parts fabrication.

Candidate will work from TSC's 655 Discovery Drive NW location in Huntsville, AL. Position may require occasional short-term domestic travel for equipment integration, demonstrations, and test events.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) + 5-7 years of experience OR Masters of Mechanical Engineering + 3-5 years of experience
• Solid understanding of thermal, structural, and EMI challenges associated with designing electronics for survivability in austere environments.
• Highly proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent mechanical CAD software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient with SolidWorks Simulation FEA & CFD or equivalent structural and/or thermal analysis software
• Unmanned platforms (UAV/USV/UUV) equipment design & integration experience
• Familiarity with transit package design a bonus!
