Position Summary:

The Analyst, Benefits focuses on daily administration of billing, invoicing, funding, leave and disability programs and managing customer service for the benefits team.

Work You'll Do:

  • Accountable for paying all benefit related weekly/monthly invoices
  • Responsible for reconciling and funding all weekly FSA and HSA contributions
  • Manage monthly Administrative Services Only (ASO) billing: reconciliation and funding
  • Develop weekly healthcare allocations to separate benefit accounting to appropriate operating company
  • Primary focus is building benefit team's reputation on customer service
  • Manage Benefit Center escalations and solve straightforward problems by leveraging technical experience, judgement, precedents, and policies
  • Work within guidelines and practices to coordinate service requests with Benefit Center and TPA
  • Manage all file transfers, while correcting all errors
  • Interface directly with associates and HR regarding customer service matters
  • Benefit team owner of data management
  • Facilitate all leave letters
  • Work within guidelines and policies to provide oversight on all functions related to leave and life administration
  • Maintain efficient processing of all arrears
  • Coordinate with payroll on all deductions
  • Respond to all inquiries from benefits email and voicemail box
  • Open enrollment testing
  • Establish controls and processes to improve existing practices in benefits cost management
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely processing of monthly accruals
  • Support compliance and audit practices
  • Participate in planning, testing and execution of annual US open enrollment
  • Support data requests for other postemployment benefits (OPEB)
  • Additional projects and priorities as assigned


Team:

This role will report directly to the Sr. Director, Global Benefits and will become part of the operationally efficient, customer-focused Hillenbrand Benefits Team.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university; and a minimum of 1-3 years related benefits experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in benefits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate Microsoft office skills required
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of federal/state benefit and leave laws
  • Proven customer service experience in the benefits space
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently based on some direction provided from management or senior members of team
  • Detailed and deadline oriented with the ability to prioritize, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Invoice processing experience required, preferable in benefits
  • Experience with data or cost reconciliations preferred

  • Work independently within some direction from management
