Main Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the accounting, transaction systems, financial reporting and consolidations, and policies and procedures in our SOX-compliant internal control structure. He/she will lead activities associated with process improvements, timely reporting and the development of appropriate systems to ensure that financial transactions, policies and procedures meet the Company's long and short-term objectives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting and finance function and be a key member of the Closures leadership team.
  • Support the achievement of KPI's for the plants (Sales, Op Inc, FCF, Working Capital)
  • Support the plant leadership team in critical decisions, under any prolonged absence of local finance teams.
  • Assess and develop the accounting and finance team members, throughout the division.
  • Prepare and execute the financial plan for the businesses.
  • Provide support through business analysis, strategic oversight, identification of areas for improvement and management of key projects, including some operational and commercial projects.
  • Manage the financial statement close process to timely and accurate completion while ensuring conformity with TriMas accounting policies, procedures, and control requirements.
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, and support creation of strategic plans.
  • Develop and review metrics to determine the operational effectiveness of our manufacturing operations and business processes.
  • Ensure an accurate system of standard and actual costs is maintained and variance information is analyzed to understand the operations in the region.
  • Complete the timely preparation and filing of all property and state/local tax reports and payments.
  • Support the completion of internal and external audits.
  • Identify and lead process improvement projects to automate and streamline current accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial information, accounting systems and financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree with a concentration on Finance or Accounting. Master's degree Preferred.
*8+ years' experience in accounting and finance especially with managing international teams.
*CPA, CIMA, ACA Qualified
*Strong Financial accounting skills
*Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and facilitate teams.
*Advanced skills with accounting and financial consolidation systems
*Strong business acumen
*Ability to anticipate changing business needs and potential external risks.
*Proven people management skills and ability to develop a team.
*Lean/Six Sigma problem solving experience.
*Ability to deal with international teams and work with them to resolve issues.
*Ability to liaise at all levels of the business
