POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba seeks a Machinist II/Team Lead first shift (6AM - 2:30PM) based in Indianapolis, IN In addition to Machinist II responsibilities, this position may also involve training other machinists.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $23/hr - $25/hr plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Operate machine according to standard operating instructions
  • Perform machine setups and tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary
  • Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals, as required
  • Monitor the quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP).
  • Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparator
  • Train and develop entry level machinists and organize and lead weekly department meetings.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience operating machines, setups, tool changes, etc.
  • Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension and Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance GD&T
  • Ability to perform advanced quality inspections.

WHAT WE PREFER

  • SAP or Enterprise system knowledge
  • Understanding in the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
  • Computer proficiency and lean skills
  • Documented manufacturing education/training
