Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a Water Engineering Designer to join our TYLin | Greeley and Hansen Water Solutions Team. The Water Engineering Designer will support project teams and the firm's key clients in the design and planning of complex and innovative water and wastewater projects. As part of the Design Center, the successful candidate will work under the direction of the Project Managers to support various the development and delivery of water distribution, storage, and treatment, and wastewater conveyance and treatment engineering projects.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineering design of complex assignments, including hydraulic calculations, development of reports, development of drawings and technical specifications, design of water distribution, storage and treatment systems, design of wastewater conveyance
  • and treatment systems, infrastructure condition assessment and rehabilitation, and cost estimating.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans and specifications for water/wastewater projects.
  • Design and develop water and wastewater treatment systems, including the selection and sizing of equipment and calculations.
  • Participate in assignments as a member of a team, sometimes in a lead role in particular areas of expertise, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff.
  • Assist the Project Manager with project management responsibilities.
  • Assist with development of qualification packages and proposals.
  • Presentation of project deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required. MS. degree preferred.
  • Previous internship experience in water and wastewater engineering highly preferred.
  • Certifications, Licenses:EIT licensure highly encouraged to be eligible to take PE licensure exam.
  • Demonstrated project delivery experience, including managing client expectations, technical teams, and project finances.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Technical and entrepreneurial competencies with a desire to expand client relationships and establish new ones.
  • Commitment to exceeding client expectations and implementing the best solutions to meet their needs.
