Job Summary

Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiation, purchase, and delivery of parts and material. The role will be responsible for managing inventory, inventory turns and system data in an MRP environment. Will meet with suppliers, obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, expedite orders and resolve supplier issues. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager

Job Description

Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiation, purchase, and delivery of parts and material. The role will be responsible for managing inventory, inventory turns and system data in an MRP environment. Will meet with suppliers, obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, expedite orders and resolve supplier issues. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities

- Review Material Requirements within MRP for purchases

- Initiates and maintains orders, releases, and single purchases.

- Works with commodities for consolidation, savings and inventory turns

- Manages Kanbans based on established parameters.

- Sources and negotiates with potential suppliers, requests RFQ's, evaluate and analysis results

- Sources parts and material in BCC. Basic understanding of import, export, customs, and broker process.

- Works with Engineering for potential cost savings. Implements changes with suppliers

- Manages corrective action and defective materials for correction, credit, and return

- Maintains item master data, lead-time, and supplier information within the MRP data base

- Basic understanding of Reach, RoHS, NAFTA & Conflict Minerals

- Maintain current operation standards and certifications

- Read and understand drawings and specifications

- Supports Engineering for new product development

- Position at plant location - non-remote

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years as a Buyer, preferably in a manufacturing environment

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

- Strong negotiating skills

- Strong computer skills- MRP system and Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel

- Knowledge of Oracle is a plus
