As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Marian University is seeking applications for a Full-Time Clerkship Coordinator. This position will promote Marian University's Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by coordinating educational and evaluation activities and events of the hospital-based Year 3 clinical and didactic programs, in collaboration with MU-COM's Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and the Assistant Dean for the Continuum of Physician Education. May work with other employees and student workers in performing clerical or administrative tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Organize and administer core rotation assignments for OMSIV
  • Collect and process clerkship scheduling requests from OMSIV
  • Keep rotation assignments current in New Innovations for OMSIV while tracking graduation requirements
  • Create and maintain individual student files
  • Assist with the credentialing of preceptors and manage the appointment process for adjunct faculty.
  • Communicate rotation assignments to students and preceptors
  • Act as liaison for addressing student interactions in clinical assignments
  • Manage Offerings in database for student selection
Secondary Job Responsibilities as needed:
  • Assist with maintaining and updating clerkship guides and preceptor guides
  • Assist in COCA self-study write ups and data collection for site visits
  • Create, collect and collate student surveys
  • Proctor standardized tests for the medical students
  • Serve as New Innovations support for students, preceptors and staff
  • Stay current on new programs/options offered in New Innovations, Qualtrics and Canvas
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree and/or two (2) years' experience in Medical Education or related field preferred.
  • Has broad knowledge of office practices, policies and procedures, expertise in standard software programs, and becomes efficient in operating the learning management system, other classroom teaching software programs, and clerkship management software. Displays exceptional verbal and written skills in physical and electronic media. Adapts message appropriately to the audience
  • Has the ability to prioritize requests from multiple faculty.
  • Is able to write correspondence and develop and write procedures as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
  • Proficient at excel, word and quick learner of data base programs.
  • Is organized and is able to work independently, but seeks direction when needed.
  • Presents a positive image of the University and COM to external audiences, both in person, via telephone and in e-mail communications.
