Position Function | Supports the Chief of Police in planning and coordinating the operational and personnel activities for the Office of Public Safety. |
Minimum Education | Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. |
Minimum Experience | Seven years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience; at least five years of supervisory experience. |
Minimum Other | Certified as a police officer in the State of Indiana or have demonstrated ability by possessing comparable state law enforcement certification elsewhere and able to be certified by the state of Indiana within the first year of employment. |
Authorization to work in the US | Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. |
Preferred Education | Advanced specialty training in criminal investigation and other police functions. |
Preferred Experience | Experience in campus law enforcement; familiarity with multi-agency task forces and crime prevention/public education programming in a college or university setting. |
Preferred Other | Demonstrated ability to make difficult, complex, administrative, and operational decisions. Working knowledge of the Jeanne Clery Act and the CALEA Accreditation process. |
Pre-Employment Screening | Requires successful completion of a Drivers License check, Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification. |
