Job Description

Sr. Network Engineer:

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Network engineer to be responsible for designing technical solutions and coordinating with the team to ensure timely and accurate implementation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining the network. This role will provide Tier III support to Crum and Forster and its affiliates. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of wide ranging technologies and networking concepts for both on-prem and cloud networks. Engineer must provide scalable, reliable, and secure network solutions.

What you will do for C&F:

    Design, deploy and manage on-prem and cloud network infrastructure including load balancers, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Support the day-to-day network operations of a dynamic nationwide (~25 site) WAN, respond to alerts, perform proactive maintenance
  • Identify and recommend new network technologies and architectures to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Assist in monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues, including latency, connectivity, and bandwidth utilization.
  • Present technical concepts and maintain technical documentation
  • Work with customers, management and other technical teams to resolve customer issues, outages and tickets
  • Maintains a security minded approach to all network configurations and implementations
  • Respond to required after-hours work as needed and participate in after-hours on-call responsibilities - which is now scheduled for a week at a time.
  • Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our on-prem and cloud network infrastructure

What you will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 6+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and SD-WAN.
  • Strong documentation skills are a must.
  • Background with Cisco, Aruba & Palo Alto Networks is preferred for our on-prem networks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking technologies such as AWS VPC, Azure Vnet, Equinix Fabric, VPN, Direct Connect, Load Balancers, and CDN
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Network Security, including the design, configuration, and tuning of Cisco security appliances & Cisco ISE.
  • Experience with packet analyzers and root cause determination of networking issues.
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCDP, and/or CCIE) strongly desired.
  • Skills in using Visio, other network documentation and discovery software.
  • Network monitoring with tools like Solarwinds.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $71,300.00 to a maximum of $162,100.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs
