Community Outreach to Professional/Technical

The Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects (AAAEA) is a professional organization dedicated to helping its members succeed in their professions by networking among each other through seminars and social activities. It is non-political and non-religious. It is open to all architects, engineers and computer science professionals of Arab heritage.

From increasing awareness among elected officials on issues of importance to the Asian American community, to documenting the need for increased representation in all areas of the profession including the judiciary, to serving the legal needs of the community by supporting pro bono legal clinics and organizations, the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area (AABA) has strived to serve Chicagoland's AA attorneys and the AA community.

The Chicago Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association was formed in 1989 by Linda Yu, an ABC-7 news anchor, and David Ibata, a Chicago Tribune editor. The Chapter presents a variety of journalism-related activities, the most important of which are designed to help prepare young journalists for a successful career in the news media. It also promotes diversity programs, offers career advice, works with other journalist organizations, and encourages networking among AAJA members nationwide.

ALPFA is the premier Latino professional organization in finance, accounting, and other related professions. ALPFA has active members, committed business partners, and quality programs. ALPFA creates opportunities, adds value, and builds relationships for its members, the community and its business partners while expanding Latino Leadership in the global workforce.

The LACC was founded in 1976 by 18 small businesses. To date, the LACC has in excess of 1,300 members, making it the largest Hispanic Trade Association in the Midwest. The LACC is also one of the largest Minority Business Consulting Groups in Illinois. Its areas of expertise include: Business Financing, Contract Procurement, General Business Consulting, and Management Development.

We are dedicated to providing premier educational choices and advanced employment preparation for youth, adults, and organizations of the Miami Valley.

The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources Chicago Chapter is a national organization concerned with improving the professional development of African American Human Resource professionals, consultants and students. The NAAAHR is dedicated to providing a forum where African Americans can share, gain information and provide leadership on issues affecting their individual careers and the quality of work life for other Americans.

The Chicago Computer Society is a non-profit organization providing educational and informational opportunities for its members. Through interaction with each other and with vendors, members expand their knowledge, understanding and productive use of personal computer software and hardware. The Society receives its vitality from members volunteering their time and talents to create services for fellow members. In meetings and events held throughout Chicagoland, our members contribute these services in turn to the community.
